Internships
We are currently accepting Intern Applications for
naturopathic global health internships for 2012
NDI naturopathic global health internships are offered year round and are a minimum of 2 months. You may apply to the NDI internship program if you are a medical student, undergraduate student that is interested in global studies, global health or grassroots social justice organizations, or medical professional. All internships are a combination of administrative and if you are qualified, clinical service. Students can only shadow doctors and will be given a certain amount of shifts to do so. If you are a student, and wish to intern for a minimum of 2 months, please apply here.
Interns will be involved in many aspects of NDI’s operations, such as administrative assistance, course support, research and development, writing and newsletter layout, community health project development, data entry and other initiatives. The time commitment is 40 hours weekly and is located in Nicaragua. Interns must pay a monthly donation determined by length of service and previous service with NDI (see fee schedule below). Additionally, interns are responsible for their own personal expenses, health insurance, and travel expenses to and from Nicaragua. Prerequisites
1. NDI Global Health Course (10-day Brigade). Preference is given to applicants who have already attended a global health course or with previous international and spanish skills. NDI brigade alumni receive a discounted internship rate. If you have NOT attended a NDI global health course and one is offered during your internship, that month the full course fee of $1300 applies in addition to your monthly intern fee.

Progam fee schedule (including housing and 3 meals per day)
2-3 month interns - NDI Brigade Alumni - $800 per month donation; Non-Alumni - $1300 per month donation
4-6 month interns - NDI Brigade Alumni - $600 per month donation; Non-Alumni - $1100 per month donation
7-12 month interns - NDI Brigade Alumni - $500 per month donation; Non-Alumni - $900 per month donation
