"Being an NDI Global Health Intern was both a humbling experience and one that allowed me to grow as a person.I felt welcomed and comfortable with the organization and on the island from day one. Being part of it all, even for just a short time, really opened my eyes to the all hard work that is done, and I felt that my work was really valued during the month I was there. I would recommend this experience to anyone who is interested in working in global health!" ~ 2013 Intern, CCNM

We are now accepting Intern applications for global health internships!
NDI global health internships are offered year round and are a minimum of 1 month. You may apply to the NDI internship program if you are a medical student, student of a global health program (undergraduate, masters of science or masters of public health), global health or grassroots social justice organizations, or medical professional. All internships are a combine administrative, project and if you are qualified, clinical service. Students can only shadow doctors and will be given a certain amount of shifts to do so. If you are a student, and wish to intern, a minimum of 1 month is required. Interns are also required to complete the Johns Hopkins Online Ethics Course prior to arriving. Please apply here.

The time commitment is 40 hours weekly and is located in Nicaragua. Interns must pay a monthly donation determined by length of service and previous service with NDI (see fee schedule below). Additionally, interns are responsible for their own personal expenses, health insurance, and travel expenses to and from Nicaragua. For a full description of the internship, please read the NDI Internship Guide.
